Being part of the buffer zone of the Coiba Island National Park, Cebaco Island opens the way to the largest of the volcanic islands, Coiba.
Cebaco Sunrise is located in the buffer zone of the Coiba Island National Park and opens the way to the largest of the islands with volcanic origin, Coiba, which with 50,314 hectares, is the largest island in the country.
It has become a National Park thanks to its biodiversity; 1,450 species of vascular plants, 36 species of mammals, 147 birds and 39 species of amphibians and reptiles, with a high degree of endemism, have been registered in their primary forests.
But the natural richness of the park it is in its waters. In the Damas bay is located a coral reef with more than 135 hectares. The second largest in the eastern Pacific and the largest in the Central American region. The Coiba seas traditionally known for their abundance are home to species such as whale sharks (Rhincodon typus), tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier), manta ray (Manta birostris), dorado (Coriphaena hippurus) and yellowfin tuna ( Thunnus albacahes).
The Coiba National Park favors the opportunity of beach activities, diving and fishing along its entire coastal perimeter. From Cebaco Island you can organize a day tour or for diving to Coiba Island. With good weather conditions it can take about 2 hours boat ride from Cebaco to Coiba Island.
